The Harland diaspora
Robert Wallace (‘Wallace’) Harland
b. 10 June 1888 at Hillside, Bessbrook, Co. Down
m. 11 July 1922, Warrenpoint ,Co Down
d. 20 November 1961 in Sherburn, Durham. Ashes in Bessbrook.   

Wallace was another of the tall (6’ 2”) lean Harlands. He was educated at Newry High School and Methodist College Belfast. He was an excellent pianist, and church organist.  He worked in a linen company, Messr.  H.A. McKeag & Co., in Belfast; and also in New York 1907-9 & 1910 -12.
